Except, of course, that lots of astronomers still like to go to Fremont
Peak, and get along fine with Ranger Bowers. Funny how everyone who
talks to him in a non-combative way finds him quite friendly, whereas
the people who complain about things not under his control, make
demands, and write letters of complaint don't find him so friendly --
puzzling, isn't it? (Scratches head.)

Except that he wasn't "more accomodating"; he's always been that way. I
see a lot of flaming about him here, but very little of it is from
people who have personally had a conversation with him.
